What does a pergola cost?
A product price is a useful starting point, but it does not establish the finished project cost. Model, size, selected side features, installation scope and the condition of your site all matter.

The POWER+ Gen 2 product page displayed this price with Freestanding, Gray and 10′ × 10′ selected, before adding paid options or installation.
The same selection displayed an optional installation charge of US$945. Adding those two displayed amounts gives US$4,544, before taxes and any other project costs.
This is a dated illustration, not a confirmed installed quote. Installation eligibility for a particular ZIP code has not been established here; the fee can vary with size and side-wall configuration. Check your current selection, service eligibility and remaining site work before budgeting the final total.
For a custom pergola, obtain a proposal for the agreed dimensions and features. Do not use the price of a nearby standard size as the custom project estimate.

Read the installation boundary
The service details on the POWER+ Gen 2 page include assembly, anchoring and connection to an existing outlet. They exclude foundation construction, major rewiring, moving products around the site and cleanup. The listed fee varies with size and side-wall configuration; service eligibility must also be checked.
Price those excluded tasks separately when they apply. An assembly charge alone is not a complete pergola installation budget.
The shipping policy linked in the site footer describes standard freight delivery as curbside unless another service is agreed in writing. Confirm how packages will reach the installation area. For shipping charges, confirm your actual order and address, especially if accessories will be ordered separately.

Turn the breakdown into a usable total
- Record the configured product subtotal. Save the exact selections and date. List paid accessories once and identify anything already included.
- Add confirmed outside work. Assign each applicable budget item to the seller, installer, contractor, electrician or relevant authority. Record what each amount covers.
- Keep estimates and unknowns visible. Label a provisional allowance as an estimate. If an item has not been priced, write “quote needed”; do not enter zero.
- Separate essentials from choices. Keep required site work in the base budget. Show optional features as additions so you can change the scope without hiding essential costs.
Your working total: confirmed product and service amounts + clearly labeled allowances.
List unresolved costs next to that total. Until those items are priced, the figure remains provisional. Discuss a contingency with your contractor based on the actual unresolved work rather than assuming one percentage fits every project.
To compare cost per square foot, use the same definition of area and the same included work for both options. A kit-only figure divided by roof area cannot be compared fairly with a fully installed project figure.

Does the pergola price include installation?
Check the exact configuration and order summary. The POWER+ Gen 2 page offers installation as a separate selection and requires a service-area check. Do not assume the product price includes it.
Can I reduce the budget by assembling it myself?
Compare the work you can realistically undertake with the installer’s scope. Account for any tools, handling or help you would need. Base preparation, electrical work and local requirements still need to be addressed; removing an assembly fee does not remove those tasks.
Is a custom pergola always more expensive?
